AMC high performance motion controllers are supplied to a number of manufacturers of gantry type of cnc rug cutter and carver machines used to manufacture custom rugs and carpets.

Cutting is generally accomplished with an ultrasonic knife the orientation of which is automatically set by an AMC axis configured to remain tangential to the machine XY motion. Carving is accomplished by a patented, angled, heavy duty clipper, automatically oriented with another AMC axis to be tangential to XY motion.

This application requires the controller to automatically control the lift and angular orientation of both the cnc rug cutter and carver heads, 'real time', based on the direction of movement.

Parts programs, generally comprised of text and graphics, are often generated in HPGL format using third party sign making software.

The operator interface is usually implemented using NEE's WinAMC PC based virtual control panel software.
