Company G design and manufacture a range of custom machines including an automated fluid gasket dispenser.
The machine is designed to dispense any required shape and to provide maximum machine productivity. The machine has to be safe to
operate; it has to meet demanding European Machine Safety regulations.
The gasket dispenser comprises of a two component position, rotary carousel. As one position is being unloaded / loaded, dispensing takes place in
the second position, which is totally enclosed for safety reasons.

The product on which the gasket fluid is dispensed is available in a number of sizes. The gasket dispenser
program and the program path is automatically modified to suit each specific product. The machine is operated by entry level, non technical operators. The complete automatic control
sequence embedded in the AMC machine controller requires that the operator:
a) manually select the current part type if there is a type change
b) lift a guard cover
c) unload a dispensed part
d) load a new part, then
e) close the guard.
The complete control sequence, permanently flashed and held within the standard AMC, uses moderately
complex PLC sequences integrated with machine movements defining dispense paths. These were developed
using AMC’s Graphical Programming Software, GPS.
The process must be continually monitored by the AMC AMC controller. If there is a period of longer than 3 minutes since the last dispense the machine must automatically
move to an exhaust position and expel the contents of the dispensing head to stop the mixture hardening
within the head.
Company G chose to use the AMC AMC’s because of:
- The option of integrated stepper drives within the controller
- No additional PLC was required to implement the complex control sequences
- AMC engineers took on all the tasks of integrating the controller with the machine, and designing,
generating and testing the complete system
- The competitive cost of the system
